Yomer Woods and Lee Bay

Lee Bay

Sea Green School activities take place in the beautiful village of Lee (between Ilfracombe and Woolacombe). We meet at the village hall car park opposite the small church in the heart of Lee.   There is a voluntary contribution box – suggested donation for parking is £4 a day, £2 half a day.  Our main sites are Lee Bay for seashore activities and Yomer woods for woodland adventures. The two sites are 20 minutes apart. Sea Green leaders check tides and weather conditions daily to ensure the beach is safe for children to access.  It is a fantastic beach  for rock pooling. Yomer woods has a camp fire, rope swings, compost toilet, shelters and a tent which means it is accessible in all weather conditions.

WHAT TO BRING

Participants need to come dressed in appropriate outdoor clothing and wear sturdy trainers (open toed sandals are not allowed) and bring a spare set of clothes in case they get wet. Please bring a waterproof jacket, wellington boots/spare pair of trainers, a sunhat, sun cream SPF 30, a full drink bottle. Biting insects such as horse flies and stinging nettles and brambles make it important that everyone wears long sleeves and trousers. Please make sure sun cream is applied on sunny days.
